We are a proudly owned and operated Metis business assisting our clients in discovering their Indigenous Ancestry and Family History.
We specialize in offering Professional Genealogy and Family History products and services required for registration/membership with the following:
- Metis Nation of British Columbia
- Metis Nation of Alberta
- Metis Nation of Saskatchewan
- Metis Nation of Ontario
- Indigenous & Northern Affairs Canada
Note: We do not guarantee approval for membership by any Metis Nation. Approval for membership is at the sole discretion of the Metis Nation itself. We do not make the determination/decision of whether and individual is Metis or not. We assist with the application process by providing the Pedigree Charts and Proof Documentation.
We have over 20 years experience in the legal field, we are experienced in conducting scrupulous research, deciphering between credible sourced information and fiction, and finding documents providing evidence ... to name just a few of our skills and experiences.
We are experienced, knowledgeable, and have the resources to thoroughly research and locate credibly sourced information and documentation to find and prove Family Lineage and Historical Indigenous Connection(s).
- Family Lineage research involves determining who a person's ancestors are, locating credibly sourced and genealogically accepted documents to prove family lineage from generation-to-generation.
- Historical Indigenous Connection research involves investigating each individual on the proven Pedigree Chart(s) to find and prove:
- Historical Blood Connection to an Indigenous and European couple
- Connection to Historical Indigenous Community (summer and winter camps)
- Their cultural practices

Genealogy and Family History research can be very time-consuming, complicated, and overwhelming to someone without experience. it can often be confusing, frustrating, and costly experience. Where to find credible information and documents? How to know if the information is e accurate and reliable? What information is required to prove Indigenous Ancestry?
Knowledge of Colonialism & Indigenous History
We are knowledgeable of Canada's history and its settlement from the time of first contact in the 1600's. Colonialism forever changed our traditional ways and how our ancestors lived. We are intrigued by the recorded history and its people. Our knowledge includes historic maps and information about Historic Metis Homeland, their way of life, and their movement across the vast lands we now call Canada. We acknowledge each Indigenous Nation's Historical Metis Settlements which have been approved and accepted at the National level.
Traditionally, the Indigenous people's were quite mobile. They moved from place to place following resources for suitable climate, fleeing from government forces for the sake of protecting their families, keeping close to hunting-gathering grounds, fur trade routes, connection to their culture and their families to name only a few.

1. Basic Genealogy Pedigree Chart(s)
All Pedigree Charts provide the details of each direct line ancestor and their spouse, including their birth names, dates and places of birth, dates and places of marriage, dates and places of death
Options:
- 4 generation (approximately early 1900's) - for either maternal/paternal/or both sides of family
- 7 generation (approximately early to mid 1800's) - for either maternal/paternal/or both sides of family
2. [New] Pedigree Chart(s) with Documents Proving Family Lineage & Historical Genealogy
This is the Genealogy and Proof Documentation Required to apply for membership with any of the Metis Nations or Application for Treaty Status with Indigenous Affairs
- Letter of Report summarizing findings
- Basic Genealogy Pedigree Chart(s) per above
- List of Citations/Sources of all documentation
AND
- Includes copies of all genealogy accepted historical records proving family lineage from generation to generation
- Includes copies of all historical records proving Indigenous Ancestry (we diligently research to try to provide 2+ sources of credible documentation per ancestor)
- Our products are couriered directly to our clients (with signature required)
3. [New] Ancestry First Nations and Non-Status Registration Search
Historical Search conducted and based on a proven Pedigree Chart to determine if any direct-line ancestors were registered as First Nations Status or Non-Status. Indigenous & Northern Affairs Canada is permitting some claims for Treaty Status (under curtain circumstances). There are specific requirements for application of Treaty Status.
4. Personalized Family History Book
This product is a personally detailed history book and definitely a family heirloom to be treasured by all
- Letter of Report summarizing finds
- Pedigree Chart with Proof of Family Lineage & Indigenous Historical Genealogy Records per above
- List of Citations/Sources of all documentation
AND
- Detailed information about each ancestor. For example personalized biography, up to 2 pictures (provided by client or found through research), obituary, copies of any land titles, articles or citation of any books about an ancestor, burial location/information, information held at any museum/historical society, historical community information, lifestyle, etc -- depending on what information is found and it is amazing the amount of information that can be found!

Beware of Online Genealogy Websites
There is a vast amount of information on the internet including various genealogy websites. It has been from our experience and knowledge that we suggest to be exercise caution fossr the following reasons:
- All publicly available genealogy websites (free access or requiring paid subscription) are open-edited and are NOT checked for accuracy and validity
- Open-edited means anyone can create profiles of ancestors and enter any information
- It has become common-place for multiple profiles for the same person to be created (same name, same birth date and place) and be connected to family members (parents, siblings, children) that are not honestly and truthfully related.
- Source documents are being uploaded which do not belong to that family.
- AND there are many individuals who are intentionally creating profiles and falsifying information/documents for the purpose of trying to validate their false claim to Indigenous Ancestry.
Words of Advice Concerning Metis Scrip
In order to prove Indigenous Ancestry, it is our experience that locating a Metis Scrip is not suffice. We suggest to use caution in relying on Metis Scrip for the following reasons:
- Metis Scrip was provided to individuals who self-declared being of Metis Ancestry by answering a few questions and swearing an Affidavit. This was during a time when there was no formal identification documents and no way of checking validity of a self-declaration. In many instances, Applications for Metis Scrip were completed with the assistance of an "Indian Agent" and/or a Interpreter due to language barriers.
- During the historical time period of Metis Scrip being granted, Metis and Non-Status First Nations were collectively grouped together
- Also, during this same time period, due to fear and in attempt to protect their family, many First Nations signed Affidavits rescinding their Treaty Rights and declared themselves as Metis so their women and children would not be taken against their will to residential and industrial schools to 'remove the savage' from them.
This is just a few of the many historically documented facts about Metis Scrip. Accordingly, Metis Scrip is a historical document, but it should not be relied upon as the only proof of Indigenous Ancestry.
